San Diego Magazine is proud to present the 2025 Excellence in Nursing Awards, celebrating the extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond in patient care. From dedicated nurses making a difference to aspiring high school seniors pursuing a major in nursing, this program shines a spotlight on the heart of our healthcare community.
Recognizing Outstanding Nurses
We invite hospital administrators, supervisors, and medical professionals to nominate nurses who exemplify exceptional care, leadership, and dedication. The Top 20 nurses will be featured in the September issue of San Diego Magazine, and the Nurse of the Year will be announced live at our Excellence in Nursing Gala on August 27th.
Supporting the Next Generation of Nurses
San Diego Magazine is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior in San Diego County who is passionate about pursuing a career in nursing. The winner will be featured in the September issue.
How to Participate
Nomination & Scholarship Application Window: March 17 – April 27, 2025
- Nominate a Nurse: (Entry Fee: $100) – Includes one (1) ticket to the Excellence in Nursing Gala & Awards Ceremony. A portion of the fee will additionally be donated to the scholarship fund for the winning recipient.

- Join Us in Celebrating Excellence in Nursing: All honorees will be recognized at the Excellence in Nursing Gala on September 3rd at the San Diego Air & Space Museum, featuring an elegant evening inclusive of complimentary cocktail hour beverage, three-course dinner, complimentary wine service, and an inspiring awards presentation.
